The purpose of Tonalli is to put my original art on clothing. Tonalli is a Nahuatl word that means "essence." I aim to create things that channel my artistic essence through small batch apparel. This Maguey tee features a rabbit nestled inside of a maguey plant, which references the rabbit in the moon. As a Mexican, the rabbit image in the moon is a part of the mysticism in our ancestral cultures. There is an intentional connection between the imagery in my artwork and the nature that inspires it.
